If more applications are received, the same oversubscription criteria will be used as for entry into Year 7. For entry into the Sixth Form to study Level 3 courses (A level or equivalent), the students must meet the minimum entry requirements. These are at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or equivalent Level 2 qualifications. Students who do not achieve grade 4 in English and/or Maths will be required to continue the subject/s and retake the examination/s. Individual subjects have their own entry requirements. These can be found in the Sixth Form prospectus on the school’s website. All students in Year 11 are eligible to apply, but external students are also welcome. The academy does reserve the right to withdraw courses that are not viable. If this happens, students will be informed and supported in making alternative choices at the school or in seeking an alternative provider. In-year admissions will only be considered if there is capacity in the chosen courses and compatibility in what has been studied already to give a realistic chance of success. If a place is refused, parents, carers, or the students (if they are over 18) may request a review of the decision by the school’s governors and have the right to an independent review.
