School Uniform
School Jumper: The school “V” neck jumper is green with the school’s logo embroidered on it. Available from Rumours only.
Ties should be worn properly, cover the top button and hang to full length and now available as a clip on style. Available from Rumours only.
- Years 7 – 9: dark green with a broad gold diagonal stripe
- Years 10 – 11: dark green with a widely-spaced single thin gold stripe
- Shoes – Plain Black, Flat Polishable Shoes (no embellishments, logos, bows). Trainers, boots, pumps or canvas shoes are not permitted.
- Shirt: School shirts are white and regular fit. All shirt buttons to be done up to the top and the shirt tucked into trousers.
- Trousers: Black classically pleated or flat front, full length straight leg traditional fit school trousers. No skin tight trousers. No denim or external studs. Must be waist-high so that shirts can be tucked in properly. If a belt is necessary it must be plain black.
- Skirt: Black – stitch down pleated or box pleated. The hem of the skirt should be just above the knee.
Please be aware that some shops sell items of clothing classed as “school uniform” which are fashion items and not appropriate for school wear. If you are unsure about the acceptability of any item of clothing, please contact your child’s Behaviour Manager at the school before purchase.
PE/Games Kit
- Black polo t-shirt with Lady Lumley’s logo
- School green rugby top or black games jumper with Lady Lumley’s logo
- Black shorts/skort/leggings
- Long black socks
- Training Shoes and Football boots
- Shin pads
Outdoor Coats – Coats should be plain and have no large logos. Coats should be removed as soon as students enter the academy. Hoodies are not permitted.
Bags – Students require a plain school bag that can fasten securely and large enough to carry an A4 sized folder.

Further Information
Hairstyles – These should be sensible and hair colour should be natural. Please check with your child’s Learning Manager before considering any dramatic changes to style and colour. No patterns should be shaved into hairstyles.
Hair accessories should be discreet and in dark colours e.g. black or blue.
No scarves or bandanas (unless for religious reasons).
Jewellery – No jewellery is allowed except a wristwatch and a Medic Alert necklace/bracelet.
Smart Watches are not permitted.
If any student is thinking about having piercings, this should be done at the start of the summer holidays as no student will be allowed to wear any type of piercing whilst in the academy.
Nails – Nail polish is not allowed. False/Acrylic/Gel nails are also not allowed.
Makeup – Any makeup worn by students should be very discreet. Students will be asked to remove makeup if not discreet.
Eyebrows should be natural with no patterns/shavings.
Other Equipment – As a minimum, each child needs a pen, pencil, ruler and rubber. In addition, a scientific calculator such as the CASIO FX-85GTCW, a pair of compasses, a protractor and a dictionary would also be useful.
Mobile Phones – Mobiles are not allowed in the academy. They must be out of sight in students’ bags and switched off until students cross the green line at 3.00pm.
Please clearly mark all items of clothing and personal kit with the student’s name. This will help greatly in recovering lost property.
We do keep a small number of ties for sale at Reception for emergencies, please pay for this via My Child at School in the products section.
